It’s WHAT date?
A few months ago, I started telling people at work that if they wanted something done, they better email me.
Apparently, I did not get my own memo.
My totally-secret-I’m-sure-no-one-suspected plan, you see, was to schedule a bunch of appointments in Dallas over Memorial Day weekend and go see some horses. I was even going to take the Friday before off, and give myself lots of time.
If you’re sitting there thinking “the Friday before? That’s tomorrow, isn’t it?”—well, yes it is. I wish someone had told me that sooner.
I am pretty sure it was May 8th or 9th yesterday, and suddenly it’s the 21st and (nearly) Memorial Day Weekend.
No appointments scheduled in Dallas. Definitely no prospect of getting tomorrow off. Among other things, it’s my turn to bring in the Friday breakfast and—believe me—not even a three day weekend would be sufficient to dampen the wrath of breakfast-deprived coworkers.
I suppose I should email myself a reminder now that this would be a good thing to do over Labor Day weekend…

Oh, I have no doubt. It just amazes me that I can be so clueless about my personal schedule when I’m on top of everything at work.
I don’t know how I made it this far in life, to be honest.
I think there’s a glitch in the time/matter continuum. You have just described my month. The kids are out of school WHEN? It can’t be almost June!
