In which I do that thing I said I would not do

Jump, that is.

Three little cross rails. With a surprising lack of drama.

Which, really, is exactly how it should have gone.

Congrats!  Glad to hear things went well.  Starting to jump can be a scary thing - but once you get the bug, it can be a pretty hard to stay away from.

I’ve jumped before—I’m just carrying around a huge fear of jumping because I pulled my back out so many times over fences in college. It’s taken almost two years to get my confidence back to where I was able to trot over those three little cross rails.

I’m still not convinced I want to jump frequently, but at least I know I’m not going to die (hyperbolically speaking) if I jump once in a while.

Kudos to you then for “getting back on the horse” (just had to say that)

Injuries can make things more challenging, but if you take it slow and low, I’m sure you’ll get some of the thrill, without too much risk of injury.
