Because she hates me.

(She’s on medication right now for an infection, and because she apparently can’t tolerate the normal, 2x daily antibiotics, she’s on the alternate, 3x with larger doses, antibiotics. Which means I give her one does in the a.m., and she runs away from me as soon as it’s done. By the time she decides to be friendly and comes to find me and get some attention, it’s time for her next does. Later, rinse, and repeat. She started to come see me last night, thought better of it, and ran away. Before I picked her up to give her the meds. See? She hates me. You can send her back when the meds are done, ok?)

I would love to smile. I miss Pookie. She liked me. Not that Pookie hates people, but my friend’s dog hates people, but she likes me. I like being liked by animals.

Hey, if I do take Pookie, she would scare the shit out of Maddy. Amy’s cat totally scared Maddy (she whimpered and piddled on the floor!) and I bet Pookie would feel very cool and powerful being able to control a usually friendy and energetic Corgi by just her (Pookie’s) mere presence.

Ah, Pookie. Miss you. And I miss your human, too.

Pookie’s afraid of dogs, though (and spiders, and dust, and things that don’t exist), so she’d probably hide rather than stick around to find out Maddy is afraid of cats.

Unless you put Maddy next to your shoes, in which case Pookie might think twice about the hiding thing. She does like your shoes. (And you… it always surprised me that the antisocial beastie would come out while you were over).
