Video: Ro, Feb 2011

5 March 2011 2 Comments

These are recent videos, taken on a day when we were both a little tired and stiff, working on really staying straight between the aids, which had both of us a little tense. So—by no means the best example of anything. As always, you’re welcome to comment; you won’t hurt my feelings and the odds are, I’ll agree with what you have to say.

I could wait until we had perfect video to post an update, but I decided to go ahead with these because even though [excuses, excuses, excuses], I can still see just how far we’ve come and how much some things have improved. And that makes me super, super happy.

You are making circles.
That are round.
Round.
Circles.
I am in awe.  So THAT is how it’s supposed to be done.

I can see Team Ro is working on rhythm, forward, lifting the back, and staying softly on the bit.  I’m impressed.  The trot work is huge progress. Go Team Ro!!

My circles may be roundish, but I disdain the idea that they should be a particular size.

Notice the cones? That’s a 20x40ish dressage ring marked out. I put those cones out just for my lesson.

Notice how we wave at the boundaries as we ride by? So much for putting up an arena…

I was never impressed by the idea that I should color in the lines, either.
