Twenty questions, anyone? (game, not meme)
10 Feb 2008
I have no idea if this will work, but does anyone want to play Twenty Questions?
I envision something like this:
Someone posts with a general hint of whatever horse-related thing they are thinking of. People can ask questions and make guesses in the comments. The person who finally guesses correctly starts a new round on their blog. And on it goes.
I’ve seen this work on forums; it may not work on blogs because the speed will be so slowed down, but you never know.
If you’re up for it, I’m thinking of… a piece of equipment.

Is it worn by the horse?
The rider?
Is it leather?
Oh yay—I wasn’t sure anyone would play!
1) It’s not usually worn by the horse.
2) It is usually on the rider.
3) It is not made of leather, but some types can have a leather component.
Hard hat!
Or, if not that, is it worn on the upper half of the bod?
Good guess, but not a hard hat.
4) It could be worn anywhere, but most people would have it on the lower half of the body, I think.
is it directly related to riding, or not so much?
5) It’s not directly related to riding.
Would it be worn above the knee or below the knee?
6) It’s usually worn above the knee.
Is it a lunge whip?
(I’m usually so tangled up in mine it would count as “wearing” it!)
Not a lunge whip—although wearing a lunge whip is pretty impressive. ;o)
A cell phone?
Not a cell phone.
Is it associated directly with riding?
Is it a belt?
Now I think I need to get organized:
1) It’s not usually worn by the horse.
2) It is usually on the rider.
3) It is not made of leather, but some types can have a leather component.
4) It could be worn anywhere, but most people would have it on the lower half of the body, I think.
5) It’s not directly related to riding—i.e. it’s something you’re more likely to use on the ground than on the horse.
6) It’s usually worn above the knee.
It is not: a hard hat, a lunge whip, a cell phone, or a belt.
Stacey, for associated with riding I’ve clarified #5. I think.
Is it bigger than a bread box? Ha ha!
a braiding kit?
Well this is harder than Sudoku.
I didn’t think it was going to be this hard. Whoops.
1) It’s not usually worn by the horse.

4) It could be worn anywhere, but most people would have it on the lower half of the body, I think.
5) It’s not directly related to riding—i.e. it’s something you’re more likely to use on the ground/not as part of riding.
6) It’s usually worn above the knee.
7) It’s smaller than a bread box. I bet it’s smaller than most braiding kits, too.
It is not: a hard hat, a lunge whip, a cell phone, a belt, a braiding kit.
Is it used for grooming?
8) It is not used for grooming.
Is it a treat pouch?
What piece of equipment would be on the lower half of the body but above the knee? My question: is it an article of clothing?
I’m thinking it has to hang off the belt or the waist?
It’s not a treat pouch or an article of clothing.
It would be on the belt or in a pocket, usually. Does that help?
Is it a hoof pick?
is it a stop watch or timer of some sort?
